United States Warranty Etch
Window etching is a process by which a chemical solution is used to etch code numbers which cannot be removed. The numbers are then entered into a national database with all the information needed to register the vehicle.
Window etching's effectiveness is based on two primary factors: Professional thieves will not take the time to replace windows that are engraved with a traceable code. Chop shops do not want vehicles that can be traced through ID numbers.
US Etch pays a flat benefit to the consumer in the event the covered vehicle is a total loss.
