Cadillac XT5 vs. Lexus RX: What Boca Raton Buyers Should Actually Weigh The Lexus RX has been the default answer in this segment for so long that a lot of shoppers don't even think to cross-shop it. That's a mistake, honestly, because the Cadillac XT5 has quietly become one of the more compelling midsize luxury SUVs on the road, and it deserves a spot on your test-drive list if you're shopping in this class around Boca Raton or Fort Lauderdale. Let's talk fit and finish first, since that's usually where people assume Lexus has the automatic edge. It's closer than you'd think. Cadillac has put real effort into the XT5's cabin over the last few model years — the materials feel substantial, the seats are genuinely comfortable on longer drives, and the overall design leans a little sportier and more expressive than the RX's more understated approach. If you want your SUV to feel a little more distinctive in a parking lot full of luxury crossovers, that's worth something. On the technology front, the XT5 holds its own and, in a few areas, gets ahead. The infotainment system is intuitive once you spend a few minutes with it, and Cadillac's approach to driver-assist features has closed whatever gap used to exist. Where things get interesting is pricing — the XT5 is frequently positioned to deliver more standard equipment for the money, which matters a lot once you start comparing similarly-equipped trims side by side rather than base models against base models. Ride quality is where these two get philosophical. Lexus has built its whole identity around a smooth, almost cushioned driving experience, and the RX delivers exactly that. The XT5 splits the difference a bit — comfortable enough for the daily grind of South Florida traffic, but with a little more responsiveness if the road opens up. Neither approach is objectively better. It really depends on whether you want your SUV to feel plush or a bit more engaged. Reliability is the question we hear most often, and it's a fair one — Lexus has built decades of trust around dependability. Cadillac's more recent lineup has made real strides here too, and a lot of that comes down to routine maintenance and working with a dealership that actually knows the vehicle inside and out. Which brings up a point that doesn't show up on any spec sheet: where you buy matters almost as much as what you buy. Sheehan Cadillac's service team has been working exclusively on these vehicles for years, and that kind of specialized experience tends to catch small issues before they become expensive ones. If you've already got the RX penciled in as your default choice, all we'd ask is that you give the XT5 twenty minutes behind the wheel before you sign anything. A lot of our customers walk in assuming they know which one they want, and walk out surprised. Stop by Sheehan Cadillac at 5101 N. Federal Highway in Pompano Beach to see the current XT5 lineup, or call (954) 426-1800 to schedule a test drive.

GM Rewards

GM Rewards Explained: How Lighthouse Point Drivers Can Save on Service and Parts If you own a GMC or Buick and haven't signed up for GM Rewards yet, you're leaving savings on the table every time you visit our service department or shop for parts. Here's a straightforward breakdown of how the program actually works. What Is GM Rewards? GM Rewards is General Motors' loyalty program that lets you earn points on eligible purchases and service visits, which can then be redeemed toward future vehicle purchases, service, parts, and accessories. It's free to join, and points don't expire as long as your account stays active. How You Earn Points Service visits — oil changes, tire rotations, and other maintenance performed at Sheehan Buick GMC's service department earn points automatically once you're enrolled and your account is linked Parts and accessories purchases — genuine GM parts and GMC/Buick accessories purchased through us count toward your total New vehicle purchases or leases — the biggest point earnings typically come from financing or leasing a new GMC or Buick GM Rewards Credit Card — for drivers who want to accelerate earnings, GM offers a co-branded credit card that earns points on everyday purchases, not just automotive ones How You Redeem Points Points can be applied toward: Your next oil change or scheduled maintenance visit Parts and accessories purchases, including tires The down payment or purchase price on a new GMC or Buick There's no complicated tier system to navigate — points are points, and they stack up the more you service and shop with us. Why It's Worth Signing Up Even If You're Not Buying Soon A lot of owners assume rewards programs are only worth it if you're actively shopping for a new vehicle. That's not the case here. If you're already bringing your Sierra, Enclave, Terrain, or Envision in for routine service — which you should be doing anyway to keep your warranty intact and your vehicle running well — you're essentially earning free savings for maintenance you'd be paying for regardless. How to Sign Up Enrollment takes just a few minutes and can be done online before your next service appointment. Bring your GM Rewards number (or sign up on the spot) at your next visit, and our service advisors can make sure your account is properly linked to your vehicle. A Reminder to Check Your Balance Because points don't expire with regular activity, it's easy to forget you're accumulating them. We recommend checking your balance every few service visits — you might be surprised how close you are to a meaningful redemption. Ready to start earning? Enroll in GM Rewards or ask our service team to link your account at your next visit to Sheehan Buick GMC in Lighthouse Point.

Financing with Bad Credit

Financing a Car with Bad Credit: Your Options at Sheehan Buick GMC If your credit score isn't where you'd like it to be, the idea of financing a new or used vehicle can feel discouraging before you even start. Here's the good news: a less-than-perfect credit score doesn't disqualify you from getting into a reliable vehicle — it just changes the approach. Here's what you should know. Your Credit Score Is One Factor, Not the Whole Story Lenders look at more than just your credit score. Income stability, employment history, down payment amount, and even the vehicle itself (newer, lower-mileage vehicles are often easier to finance) all factor into an approval decision. A lower score might mean a different interest rate or loan structure, but it rarely means an automatic no. A Down Payment Can Make a Real Difference Even a modest down payment reduces the amount you need to finance and demonstrates commitment to the lender, which can open up better rate options. If you have a trade-in vehicle, that equity often works the same way — reducing your loan amount before financing even begins. Consider a Co-Signer If you have a family member or close friend with stronger credit who's willing to co-sign, it can significantly improve your approval odds and the terms you're offered. This is a common and reasonable option — it doesn't mean your own financing path is closed off, it just adds another layer of security for the lender. Newer, Certified Pre-Owned Vehicles Can Be Easier to Finance Lenders often view Certified Pre-Owned vehicles favorably because they come with vehicle history reports and inspection standards already built in. If you're working with credit challenges, our CarBravo certified pre-owned inventory can be a strong starting point. What to Bring to Your Appointment Proof of income (recent pay stubs or bank statements) Proof of residence Driver's license Any trade-in title or loan payoff information References, if requested Having these ready lets our finance team move quickly and gives you a clear, honest picture of your options the same day. Why Work With a Local Finance Team Sheehan Buick GMC's finance department works with a range of lenders — not just one captive lender — which means more flexibility in finding an approval that fits your actual situation, regardless of your credit history. We've been helping South Florida drivers get financed for over 80 years, and that includes plenty of buyers who didn't think they'd qualify. No down payment or credit score requirement to start the conversation. Pre-qualify online or visit our finance team at 2800 N. Federal Highway in Lighthouse Point to see what you qualify for — no pressure, just honest answers.
